Interim Vice President of Sales – New York City, Remote

AccountMakers is actively recruiting Interim VPs of Sales for immediate hire on behalf of our hiring clients. Our staffing and recruiting platform specializes in sales, customer success, and support roles, connecting vetted leaders with employers across retail, fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, and other industries.

Position Details
Are you a strategic sales leader who can hit the ground running and drive revenue through a period of transition or rapid growth? We are building a pool of Interim Vice Presidents of Sales to match with hiring partners in the New York City area. In these interim assignments (typically 6–12 months), you will set and execute GTM strategy, own quota and forecast delivery, lead and mentor sales teams, optimize pipeline generation and conversion, and close key enterprise deals. You will build or refine sales processes, implement playbooks, align compensation and territories, and partner with marketing, product, customer success, and Sales Ops to accelerate growth and ensure scalable handoffs. Roles vary by client and may be remote, hybrid, or on-site; some opportunities require short-term local travel or flexible hours to meet customer and board needs.

These engagements are outcomes-driven and measured by metrics such as revenue attainment, pipeline velocity, win rate, average deal size, and team ramp time. You will work with a modern sales stack (Salesforce or HubSpot, Outreach/SalesLoft, Zoom, Gong/Chorus), conduct regular forecast reviews, and deliver executive updates. Many assignments include a defined success plan and handoff to permanent leadership when objectives are met.

What We’re Looking For
10+ years of progressive sales leadership with proven quota-bearing experience and P&L accountability.

Demonstrated success scaling B2B sales teams, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or enterprise environments.

Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and improving pipeline health.

Experience leading sales hiring, coaching, territory design, and compensation alignment.

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and executive-level communication skills.

Proficiency with CRM and sales engagement tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, or similar.

Comfortable in a fast-moving, timebound engagement and able to prioritize high-impact initiatives for immediate results.

Proven ability to deliver measurable outcomes within short engagements and drive rapid ramp for underperforming teams.

Demonstrated P&L and budget management experience, including allocation of resources to high-impact growth initiatives.

Track record of recruiting, developing, and scaling sales talent to increase productivity and reduce time-to-quota.

Compensation
Compensation varies by assignment, seniority, and duration. Typical interim hourly rates range from $125-$300 per hour, and exact terms vary by hiring partner and engagement length.
