A blended workforce refers to a team of permanent (full-time) employees working alongside contingent (temp, interim, fractional) talent. As a hiring strategy, it builds inherent flexibility into the organization, so teams can meet the shifting demands of the business more effectively, while keeping employee burnout to a minimum.

Increasing labor regulations, such as AB5 in California, mean organizations can no longer treat contractors as 1099 workers. However, hiring temporary/interim and fractional professionals as W2 employees requires a level of back-office work that most organizations aren’t equipped to handle.

AccountMakers makes connecting with these professionals far more cost-efficient and with far greater transparency than hiring them through a traditional staffing agency. With the help of our employer of record (EOR) partner, we also make these contingent arrangements feasible by employing candidates directly and assigning them back to the companies who need their help. We handle the payroll, benefits administration, and other W2-required administration that would otherwise bog down an internal HR team.

Our platform is free to join and you pay NO monthly fee. There is no cost for job seekers to sign up, or find work through AccountMakers. Like a traditional staffing and recruiting agency, employers pay a set markup on the hours worked by their temporary/interim employees and a set placement fee for any direct/permanent hires. Unlike an agency, your team can engage and hire candidates without recruiters, giving you full visibility into the talent pool and full control of the hiring process.

Contingent hires include temporary, interim, and fractional employees. While most staffing agencies charge a markup of 60% to 85% (or more) on the hours worked, AccountMakers currently charges 43%. This rate includes the required payroll taxes and insurances associated with FICA, Medicare, unemployment, and worker’s comp, as well as a small payroll and administration fee for us.

That would be fantastic! We encourage temp-to-hire (contract-to-hire) conversions, as an incredible opportunity for both the employer and the employee! Instead of the usual 20% to 25% charged by traditional agencies, we charge just 7.5% of the first year’s total compensation.

We prioritize accessibility and provide avenues for individuals to connect with employment opportunities without any financial barriers. Additionally, we charge just 7.5% on direct hire placement fees to employers. This rate represents significant savings compared to the industry standard, where recruiting firms often charge anywhere from 15% to 35% of the first year’s salary. Notably, some agencies may impose even higher markups for specialized or hard-to-fill positions, while others offer less dependable rates for high-volume staffing or long-term contracts. However, at AccountMakers, our rate remains consistent across the board, ensuring fairness and transparency in our pricing structure.
